DSITE meets four times each year with meeting sites generally alternating between Louisiana and Mississippi.
- The first meeting of the year is generally in February.
- The second meeting is a Summer meeting that is held in June or July.
- The third meeting is a meeting in October.
- The fourth meeting is a breakfast meeting held in conjunction with the Southern District ITE (SDITE) meeting which is usually held in April in one of the nine states making up the SDITE stretching from Virginia to Louisiana.
The DSITE meetings generally include a day of Technical sessions, a breakfast Business meeting and a round of golf for those that wish to play. A social hour is sometimes held after the Technical sessions. At some meetings a Technical Tour is held or a technical seminar is held. Professional Development Hours (PDH) are issued for the meetings.
Highlight of the Summer meeting is a Banquet followed by Annual Awards being given out. This is subsequently followed by a Scholarship Auction which raises the bulk of the money used for providing scholarships to individuals at the various Student Chapters.
